Manager, Cross Border e-Invoicing & Peppol PINT Integration

Job Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring seamless integration of Malaysia’s e-Invoicing framework (PINT-MY) with businesses and international Peppol networks. This role manages cross-border interoperability, business document specification, technical compliance, and collaboration with global stakeholders to facilitate smooth e-invoice exchanges.


Duties & Responsibilities:

1. PINT Integration & Compliance

  • Lead the development, customization and continuous enhancement of PINT-MY e-Invoicing specifications in line with OpenPeppol requirements and local business needs.
  • Ensure interoperability of PINT-MY with various business systems, including ERP and accounting platforms.
  • Maintain and update the PINT-MY documentation site with local rules and requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including OpenPeppol, government agencies, and businesses, to drive e-Invoicing adoption.
  • Manage the strategic evaluation, development, and implementation of new business document types within the Peppol framework, ensuring alignment with industry needs, regulatory requirements, and OpenPeppol standards to support the growth of Malaysia’s national e-Invoicing initiative.

2. Cross-Border Interoperability Testing

  • Design and manage cross-border e-Invoicing testing framework, ensuring seamless transactions between Malaysia and international Peppol networks.
  • Conduct sample e-Invoice testing (XML-based) within the Peppol Network to validate compliance and functionality.
  • Engage with international Peppol Authorities to align Malaysia’s cross-border e-Invoicing processes with global standards.

3. Technical Support & Issue Resolution

  • Provide expert guidance on PINT-MY technical and process-related issues, liaising with OpenPeppol and relevant technical teams.
  • Establish and oversee a technical support mechanism for e-Invoicing users in Malaysia
  • Address inquiries from the e-Invoicing community, service providers, and regulatory bodies.

4. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Represent MDEC as Peppol Authority for Malaysia in regional Peppol meetings, working groups, and sub-committees.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions on PINT integration and cross-border interoperability.

5. Others

  • Support the execution of other workstreams for National e-Invoicing Implementation as and when required

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, preferably with experience in web application development.
  2. Minimum 8 years of experience in digitalisation, project management, or as an experienced individual contributor in ERP, Finance or business process automation.
  3. Experience in e-Invoicing, ERP/financial systems integration, or Peppol-based solutions.
  4. Strong technical and business understanding of Peppol standards, interoperability frameworks, ERP systems, and financial processes.
  5. Expertise in cross-border systems integration and testing, including XML-based data exchange, API integration, and digital compliance.

Competency:

  1. Peppol & Technical Expertise – Strong understanding of Peppol eDelivery Network, XML (UBL XML, Schema, Web Services), YAML, and JSON. Experience in web application development and IT support is an advantage.
  2. Project & Stakeholder Management – Proven experience in executing national-level projects, regulatory compliance, and engaging with international regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
  3. Cross-Border Integration & Compliance – Experience in cross-border e-Invoicing, interoperability frameworks, and compliance with Peppol and national e-Invoicing regulations.
  4. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess technical and regulatory challenges and develop practical solutions.
  5. Communication & Independence – Excellent communication skills, ability to work with diverse stakeholders, and capable of managing tasks efficiently with minimal supervision
